Medina's hot start proved to be too much for Solon in the Bees 100-79 win on Friday night
Junior Dillon Friedrick conntected on a pair of free-throws in the game's final seconds to give the Bees a 100-79 win at Solon, the team nearly reached the triple digits in last week's opener against Warrensville Heights. Jackson Sartain led the way with 28 points and the senior sharpshooter knocked down seven three-pointers on the night, including five in the first 16 minutes of play.
The two teams traded baskets early on as Solon combo guard Jason Steele scored the first seven points and saw his team hold a 18-17 lead midway through the game's opening quarter.
After a quick flurry to end the first period, Medina completely took control to close the half as they would go on a 23-9 run in just under 6 minutes of action. Luke Schaefer did a little bit of everything tonight for the Bees as the senior was just a few assists shy of a triple double.
Junior point-guard Sincere Carry made his debut for the Comets after missing the team's first two games with a knee injury. Carry fought and clawed his team back to almost a single digit deficit, but unforced turnovers and a lack of stops on the defensive end would halt any chance of a Solon comeback, Carry finished with a team-high 17.
Medina won't have much of a break as they travel to Wadsworth tomorrow night to matchup with a young Grizzlies squad who will look to match their offensive firepower. Solon will look to bounce back next Tuesday at Willoughby South.
