The 2nd Annual  NEO Spotlight Super 60 Combine kicked off this past weekend at Garfield Heights HS in Cleveland, Ohio. Over 30 college coaches from 25 different programs across the region were on hand to check out 64 of the best prospects that Northeast Ohio had to offer.

After undergoing some skill work, the athletes in attendance underwent combine testing with NST Sports and some pool play action leading up to a competitive championship game.

Stay tuned throughout the week for more coverage from Sunday's action!

Super 60 Top Performers

#2 Michael Bekelja (Solon) - Bekelja announced on Friday, September 8th that he would be verbally committing to Fairmont State, one of the nation's top Division 2 programs, but what he did on Sunday was almost just as impressive. Bekelja was arguably the top guard prospect who participated in the Super 60. There wasn't a shot on the floor that the junior didn't like and he scored it more efficiently than anyone I saw throughout the afternoon. Bekelja's ability to make plays and create space with the ball in his hands makes him a great get moving forward for FSU.

#17 Alfonse Hale (Maple Hts.) - Alfonse Hale has transformed from himself into a leader at the point-guard position. His vocality and improved decision making has allowed him to make some strides over the last few years, becoming more than just a guy who can score the ball. This change in mentality forced Hale into a handful of 1-on-1 duels throughout the day, and he was able to turn in a more sound defensive showing as well as making the shots he's been accustomed to getting.

#18 Brandon Haraway (Norwalk) - Many fans, players, and coaches were able to get their first look on Sunday at the Norwalk junior. Haraway is simply a ballplayer. His toughness on both ends of the floor fit well with a team that consisted of some of the camp's more physical wing prospects. Haraway crushed the testing portion of the day and his athleticism and strength was on full display during the live action - impressing scouts and media in attendance with how well he was able to get to the rim and use his frame around cup.

#39 Mason McMurray (Stow-Munroe Falls) - It was a long day of basketball for McMurray. Before moving on to the Top 20 Combine later in the day, the senior forward was sure to make his impact felt throughout the Super 60. His ability to stretch the floor combined with his willingness to put the ball on the ground proved to be too much for opposing bigs. McMurray's smile and playful personality  is not to be confused with his newfound confidence and attack first mentality on the floor. He also turned in the top play of the day with a fierce lefty tip dunk in the Top 20 Combine.

#40 Evan Bainbridge (Stow-Munroe Falls) - This offseason has been one to remember for Bainbridge and on Sunday, he was able to snag his first scholarship offer from Tim Koenig and Notre Dame College. Playing alongside his HS teammate in McMurray, the two 6'8 forwards looked more than comfortable playing in an uptempo style of basketball. With ideal length and athleticism, it's very clear that the game is starting to become easier for the junior as he has continued to display a consistent motor and flashes of his upside at the four spot.

#41 Deontae McCollum (Canton McKinley) - The 5'10 guard came into Sunday's 5-on-5 action with a point to prove. McCollum was forcing the issue from the jump and set the tone throughout the day for the rest of the guards in attendance. The cousin of professional bucket getters, Errick and C.J. McCollum, it came to no surprise that Deontae was able to find his stride early and put the ball in the basket. Whether it was a pullup jumper or a tough body control finish at the rim, McCollum was one of the top scorers throughout the day and came up big during his team's championship run.

#48 Alfred Johnson (Akron Ellet) - Described by Coach Matt Hackenberg as a player who "thrives in his role", Johnson laid in perhaps the biggest two points of the day during the event's final contest. His putback bucket with time expiring gave the Red squad the nod in the Pool Play championship game and improving his Super 60 record to 8-0 in the last two years. At 6'7, Johnson possesses a wingspan well over 7-foot, resulting in a defensive presence in the paint that is matched by very few in the 2018 class.

#58 Giovanni Santiago (Cincinnati Hughes) - No one traveled further on Sunday morning than the Cincy native and Santiago made sure the trip would be worth his while. The senior is as polished offensively as any guard in Ohio's 2018 class, and he used his tight handle and crafty finishing ability to make plays and turn the heads of fans who were getting their first live look of his game. Santiago displayed an impressive motor and shotmaking ability once he was able to adjust to the speed of the game and catch his rhythm. He currently holds offers from Kentucky State and Maryland Eastern Shore.
