Copley's regular season winning streak sits at 46 after their 86-53 win over Wooster, the third ranked team in the latest AP poll. The Indians have a chance to go undefeated for the second consecutive year if they handle business Friday on the road at Green.

At First:

Copley jumped out to a 17-6 lead midway through the opening quarter, led by Brian Roberts. The junior scored 17 of his game-high 27 points in the first eight minutes of play and made his impact felt on both ends of the floor.

Roberts used his quickness to come up with four early steals that led to a pair of runouts in transition.

Wooster wings Calvin Blair and Peyton Bennington put their work in on the offensive glass and created some much needed possessions for a Generals squad that got off to a cold start shooting the basketball.

A buzzer beating three courtesy of Wooster's Devon Holmes kept the team within striking distance at the half. Copley led 42-32.

Turning Point:

Copley's Austin Brenner spent the first half wheeling and dealing and his teammates returned the favor to begin the second half.

A monster 29-point quarter, in which they shot 6 for 8 from behind the arc, was capped off by a trio of triples from Brenner.

The team started off the third on a 12-0 run before a offensive rebound and stick back by Bennington stopped the bleeding. Brenner, an Ashland University football commit, finished the game with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.

While Brenner and Roberts handled the majority of the scoring load for Copley, there were more than enough shots to go around.

"Way to go Anthony!", Copley Head Coach Mark Dente shouted at the end of the third quarter as his son Anthony drilled a three to close out the quarter and extend the lead well out of reach.

Standout Performer:

Brian Roberts is perhaps the area's most improved junior and his play Tuesday was evidence of that. Roberts, who stands at just 5'8, is the team's leading scorer this season after splitting time on junior varsity just a year ago.

On Tuesday, Roberts' hot start was enough to set the tone for his team. His quick hands on the defensive end allowed him to earn a few trips to the line and see the ball go through the net, which proved to be just what he needed to find his groove offensively.
