Best chance to beat centerville?

Peatross (NEO Spotlight) - Centerville has been the odds on favorite to repeat as state champs since they cut down the nets a year ago. The Elks are currently 28-0 and have a 44-game win streak heading into the weekend. I have a hard time imagining any of the remaining teams beating them but Pickerington Central picking up a double-digit win over Gahanna Lincoln certainly makes me believe they have a puncher's chance, if they're able to knock off a talented St. Edward team.

Albertson (Triple Double Prospects) - I don't see anyone knocking off Centerville. When you have elite talent, coaching, depth and experience there just isn't going to be much even the best high school teams can do. I expect Centerville to win the State Title at UD, and likely to do so in convincing fashion.

Stubbs (Around the State Podcast) - Pickerington Central is the team with the best chance to dethone Centerville. The Tigers collection of athleticism, strength, and length will pose a problem for any of the three remaining teams in Division I. There is no one left in the tournament with a player like Sonny Styles, who can completely dominate a basketball game without scoring. Add in one of the best overall players in the state in Devin Royal and the return of dynamic athlete Rasheem Biles, and this team is built for late March. This team plays with cohesion and makes it really hard for teams to score. Don’t be surprised if Eric Krueger’s team brings home the state championship on the 10-year anniversary of its 2012 title.

Goul (cleveland.com) - A while back you asked if we’d take Centerville or the field. I think I took the field. I’d like to change my vote. Seriously, though, I’d give St. Edward the best chance at an upset. This is Eric Flannery’s 12th trip to the final four as a coach and he has the depth that should allow him to give the Elks some different looks.

Roth (Prep Hoops Ohio) - Pickerington Central is the only team left in the tournament that I think could beat Centerville. Starting at the regional round I thought Fairmont, Gahanna and Pick Central were the only 3 teams capable of pulling off the upset, and Fairmont came 2 points short and Pick Central dominated Gahanna. The Tigers athleticism and toughness will be a challenge.

Spegal (270 Hoops) - I believe that Pickerington Central has the best chance to knock off Centerville. Devin Royal was extremely productive for the Tigers in the regional tournament and they have a cast of really solid role players like Gavin Headings, Juwan Turner, Rasheem Biles and Josh Harlan. However, the main reason that I think Pickerington Central has the best chance is because they have Sonny Styles. Styles' ability on the basketball court is extremely unique and is something that you cannot gameplan for as he makes plays on both ends of the floor that are jaw dropping game in and game out.

Fleer (270 Hoops) - Pickerington Central. The Tigers are connected, playing hard together and really have a love and energy that is contagious. The return of Raheem Biles off the bench, in addition to the guard play of Markell Johnson and Andrew Hedgepeth in that second rotation makes this team dangerous. The athletic duo of Sonny Styles and Devin Royal can take this team as far as they want as long as x-factors like Juwan Turner and Gavin Headings continue to provide quality secondary scoring.
