What Are You Looking Forward To?

T.J. Peatross, NEO Spotlight - The D1 district finals in Southwest Ohio will be the most competitive in the state as familiar names will likely meet some new faces. Fairfield and Sycamore have emerged out of the GMAC as legit challengers and you can never rule out anyone from the GCL. Both Elder and St. Xavier have notable wins this season and return some major contributors from a year ago. Centerville is the odds on favorite in the region but it is shaping up to be an absolute grind for whoever makes it out.

Corey Albertson, Triple Double Prospects - I'm most looking forward to having big crowds back again for late season rivalry games and critical conference games. There were several games I went to last year where the basketball was high level but the atmosphere was dead; that's not going to be the case this year, as games in the GCL and GMC are going to be standing room only down the stretch. The other thing I'm looking forward to is hanging out with my guy Kurt Stubbs at the State Tournament. I missed the event last year for a trip, and this is really the only time of the year I get to see Stubbs, so I'm double hyped this year!

Matt Goul, cleveland.com - The tournament, of course. It’s the most magical time of year. My No. 1 hope is Covid cases go down, no one has their season ended prematurely and these kids around the state make themselves some great memories!

Michael Roth, Prep Hoops Ohio - Hoping for the return of the all day district finals locations. I think pre-COVID you were able to catch all four of the Columbus district titles on Saturday and then all four of the SW district titles on Sunday. Those two days back to back might be my favorite of the season. Please don't change this schedule lol

Jake Meisler, Spy Report - First is the obvious — complete a regular and postseason without interruption.  But after that, getting to watch some of these DIII and DIV schools battle.  Everyone knows the heavy hitters, but the beautiful thing about basketball in Ohio is the many small schools from rural Ohio who can flat out hoop and show that come tourney time.

Zach Fleer, 270 Hoops: I'm looking forward to seeing a bunch of teams that don't often get coverage from any media, especially 270 Hoops. I am very interested in Division IV basketball in Central Ohio and am excited to check out Tree of Life and Delaware Christian on Thursday. I also plan to watch Granville Christian, who features one of the best D4 scorers in Ohio in Joe Benvie, as well as Madison Christian. The MOCAL has some good basketball this year and has been something I've been all year.

Jake Spegal, 270 Hoops - I am most looking forward to some of the big time events in the state going on as we move closer to the tournament. Not only are there a handful of great events going on with high level matchups, but these events are also great for us media members as an opportunity to do what you love with some of your closest friends all day. I really enjoy seeing everyone around during the season, catching up and watching great basketball together.
