12/27 - Ellet Edges Uniontown Lake in OT:

The size and versatility of Ellet big men A.J. Gareri and Alfred Johnson proved to be too much for the Blue Streaks as the Orangemen put an end to Lake's five game winning streak by a score of 57-53. Gareri carried the weight offensively with 22 points, but it was the defensive effort of Johnson that was key in the overtime victory. He finished with a monstrous eight blocks.

12/28 - St. Edward Grabs Third Place in West Coast Trip:

The Eagles spent part of their holiday break in San Diego as part of the Under Armour Holiday Classic. After a 81-69 loss to Foothills Christian (CA) in the semifinals, Tommy Schmock scored 27 points against Redemption Christian (NY) to lift St. Eds to a third place crown. 12/29 - Pioneers Pickup Key Pledge:

Malvern senior Jaret Majestic announced his decision to commit to Malone University on Thursday night. The 6'2 guard is one of the area's top scorers from last season and has well over 1,200 career points under Coach Dennis Tucci and the Hornets. Malone is a NCAA Division 2 program in Canton, Ohio and is the most recent member of the Greater Midwest Athletic Conference.

12/30 - Roberts Sets School Record:

Perhaps the area's breakout player of the year so far in the 2018 class, Copley guard Brian Roberts has been on a tear and his team currently sits at 6-0, good enough for #22 in our recent top 25 poll. In a cross town matchup with Akron Firestone, Roberts poured in a career-high 46 points and in the process earned NEO Spotlight Player of the Week honors. Stay tuned!

12/30 - Jackson Knocks Off McKinley in Battle of Unbeatens:

The Polar Bears hold on to the top spot in our latest poll after defeating McKinley 75-64 on the road. Over 3,000 fans filled up the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse as two of the area's top programs squared off for league bragging rights. After a hot start in the game's opening minutes by Mckinley and senior Darryl Straughter, Jackson came out of a timeout on a 10-2 run, Jackson led by 9 after one quarter of play and they would never relinquish the lead. Kyle Young led all scorers with 32 points.

12/31 - Ignatius Ends 2016 on a High Note:

The Wildcats dropped their first two games of the season but have won five of their last six contests. Their only loss during that time came by the hands of Canton McKinley after a late game run wouldn't be enough to overcome a rough first half. On New Year's Eve, Ignatius played St. Vincent-St. Mary for the second consecutive season and their 72-68 victory over the Irish sent an aftershock through the top half of our latest poll. Senior Matt Davet had a team-high 23 points and has been nothing short of special this season.
