Class of 2017

Tyler Golphin (Cleveland Central Catholic) 6'0 WG

It seems like no matter the event, Golphin always finds his way into making our top performers list. The 6'0 guard is as explosive of a scorer that you will find in the area. Without his runningmate Miryne Thomas, who announced his commitment to Maryland Eastern Shore this weekend, Golphin and Jalil Little had to carry the load for a Cleveland team that finished 3-2 on the weekend. Both Golphin and Little earned All-Star honors.

Derek Koch (Salem Northwestern) 6'8 PF

In his first live action in two plus months, the Bowling Green commit proved why he is one of the state's best and was a top target for the Falcons as he outworked opposing  bigs and created extra possessions on the offensive glass. While he was still knocking some rust off, Koch's high-level motor and ability to find teammates was vital to an Akron team that was one game away from potentially making the region's first championship appearance in the history of the event.

Jalil Little (Lorain) 6'1 PG/WG

With the exit of senior Daviere Andrews, Lorain will be without a proven scoring punch in the backcourt. Insert Jalil Little. The 6'1 guard isn't quite the shotmaker that Andrews was, but he adds a bit of versatility to a team that will surely need it. Little showed this weekend that he can rebound, handle the rock when needed, and consistently knock down a 15-foot jumper. Already one of the area's most slippery finishers at the bucket, Little appears ready to take the next step in his game.

Andrew Ziegler (Warren Harding) 6'3 WG

Fans in Northeast Ohio should get accustomed to hearing the name Andrew Ziegler. The North Carolina native has wasted no time making a name for himself in the area, and after a slow start on Saturday, his play gradually got better over the course of the weekend. Ziegler was the overall leading scorer on the Akron team this weekend, including a 17-point outing in a lopsided win over Columbus.

Class of 2018

Jordan Burge (Lutheran East) 6'2 WG

On Saturday, Burge picked up where he left off this summer as he proved to be one of the more underrated guards in the 2018 class. The powerfully built wing was a load to handle around the bucket and while he still has some room to improve, Burge showed some strides with his jumper.

Delshawn Jackson (Cleveland Central Catholic) 6'0 PG/WG

With the addition of Alex Heath, Jackson will find himself playing off the ball quite a bit this season. Over the course of the weekend, he showed why he won't have an issue making the transition. There aren't many guards in the class who get after it quite like Jackson does on the defensive end. His gritty style of play, along with his developing skillset, played a key role in the success for the junior team.

Mason McMurray (Stow-Munroe Falls) 6'7 PF

Every year, the City Series serves as the final exposure event before the start of official practice, but this year was the coming out party for junior Mason McMurray. Quite possibly the most consistent performer on the Cleveland team this weekend, McMurray found himself on the receiving end of a handful of big-time plays. In a matchup vs. Dayton, McMurray threw down a big-time two hand dunk in transition, followed up shortly by the go-ahead bucket in a three-point win against Dayton.

Class of 2019

Devon Grant (Lorain) 6'0 PG

The 2016-2017 season is going to be the final go-round for Naz Bohanon, Jalil Little, Shayne Smith, and a few other seniors at Lorain, but sophomore Devon Grant is an underclassmen that will undoubtedly find some time this season as the Titans lack a true PG. Grant showed this weekend that he is able to use his smooth handle to get his shot at any time, but when his number is called upon this season, he will be asked to facilitate the Titan's five-out motion offense.

Brandon Rush (Warrensville Heights) 6'0 PG

Throughout the Fall, Rush has continued to prove that he is one of the state's top underclassmen guards. Battling against the likes of Samari Curtis, Jeremiah Keene, and William Mfum, Rush did more than hold his own as he was among the event's top leading scorers over the two days.

Taevon Pierre-Louis (Lorain) 6'4 WG

A relatively unknown to majority of the basketball fans in Northeast Ohio, Pierre-Louis has a chance to be one of the top wings in his class. After being ineligible last season for Lorain, Pierre-Louis can emerge as Coach Rositano's most key player off the bench. Standing at 6'4 and possessing a frame well ahead of his age, Pierre-Louis is a problem for any defender when has a full-head of steam. He has proven to be an elite finisher at the rim and has the versatility á la Devon Andrews, a former Lorain High standout.

Class of 2020

Garvin Clarke (Euclid) 6'0 PG

Widely considered as one of the top freshmen in the state, Clarke did a little bit of everything for a Cleveland team that was without some key players. The 6'0 guard plays with such a great pace and poise that you almost forget that he hasn't even played a second of varsity basketball yet. In Saturday's opening matchup vs. Cincinnati, Clarke single-handily led his team to a 2-point victory, including knocking down the game-winning free throws with just under 2 seconds remaining in overtime.
