Thoughts on UD Arena?

The OHSAA State Tournament moved to the University of Dayton during the 2019-20 season and it appears as if it will be the long-term host moving forward.

Peatross (NEO Spotlight) : First off, I'd like to thank Dayton for stepping up and hosting the tournament after the unfortunate fallout with Ohio State. I love the facilities at UD, as well as the intimate setting that it provides, but I believe the overall fan experience was more enjoyable in Columbus. Fans could take a short walk to the Varsity Club and enjoy a plethora of restaurants/bars without moving their vehicles.

Goul (Cleveland.com) : Love the venue, hate the drive. Shame on Ohio State for not having more pride in its own state and setting aside St. John’s Arena as the host for our last weekends of girls and boys basketball. You know what? Thank you, Dayton. Your hospitality makes it worth it.

Roth (Prep Hoops) : I like it! There's plenty of parking and some good food spots not too far from the arena.

Spegal (270 Hoops) : I would love to see UD Arena continue to be the state tournament host moving forward. I think it's in a good location, accommodates media well and makes for a great environment over the weekend. During the Division I state final last year, the arena looked sold out, which I don't remember happening often when they hosted the state tournament at Ohio State.

Stubbs (Drive to Dayton) : I’m a huge backer of the University of Dayton being the host site. Sure, it’s not ideal in terms of being centrally located, but the experience is second to none. The atmosphere is fantastic, the hospitality is excellent, and Dayton is the best basketball city in Ohio. I don’t see it moving anytime soon.
