Best Team Regardless of Division?

With the emergence of Richmond Heights as a state power, there has been a lot of talk this season in regard to who is the top team in Ohio, regardless of division.

Peatross (NEO Spotlight) : Richmond Heights is the state's most talented group but I think the experience and leadership of Centerville or Pickerington Central would give them a slight edge, especially on the biggest stage. Richmond Heights will be the clear cut choice at this point next season.

Goul (Cleveland.com) : In order: Pick Central, Centerville, Richmond Heights, Chaminade Julienne would make my ultimate final four of who’s left.

Roth (Prep Hoops) : I’ll say Centerville. They’ve played such a tough schedule and they have the winning experience. It should be a great rematch with Pickerington Central on Saturday.

Spegal (270 Hoops) : To me, the best team left regardless of division is either Pickerington Central or Richmond Heights. Being a Columbus guy, I have seen Pick Central consistently dominate the last two seasons and they also have the top player in Ohio suiting up for them night in and night out with role players like Markell Johnson and Juwan Turner clicking at the right time as we are deep into the tournament. However, although I haven't seen them play this season, I have been following Richmond Heights' dominance on social media and truly think they might be the state's best team, which is pretty wild considering that they are Division IV.

Stubbs (Drive to Dayton) : Pickerington Central is the best team remaining until proven otherwise. The Tigers are the defending state champions and have the best player in the state of Ohio. Richmond Heights, who is (27-0), has gathered a lot of backers but unfortunately the Spartans won’t be able to prove it against a Division IV field. Centerville, a team that beat Pickerington Central in double OT back in December on a neutral floor, will have the opportunity to stake its claim on Saturday evening when it faces the Tigers yet again.
