With just three weeks remaining in the regular season, it's make it or break it time for a lot of teams in Northeast Ohio. Now is the time when teams want to be playing their best basketball as the tournament draw is just right around the corner.

The second cycle of conference is still underway but there are still a number of intriguing matchups left to play out. Keep reading to see our updated Top 25 and see what lies ahead in NEO hoops. 

Top 25

1. Jackson (1)
  • Record: 14-1
  • Last Week: Defeated Massillon Perry, 76-36. Defeated McKinley, 83-65.
  • This Week: 1/31 @ Green, 2/3 vs. #2 North Canton Hoover
  • Outlook: Don't look now but the Polar Bears are rolling. With arguably the biggest rematch of the season coming up on Friday, Coach Debevec and company will get a shot to avenge their only loss of the season as they host Hoover. 
2. North Canton Hoover (2)
  • Record: 12-2
  • Last Week: Defeated Massillon Perry, 68-49.
  • This Week: 1/31 @ McKinley, 2/3 @ #1 Massillon Jackson
  • Outlook: Two tough road matches lie ahead for Hoover but two big wins could vault the Vikings to the top of the Federal League standings. 
3. St. Ignatius (3)
  • Record: 11-4
  • Last Week: Defeated Lutheran East, 69-58. Defeated John Marshall, 70-45. 
  • This Week: 1/31 vs. #11 Benedictine, 2/4 vs. #9 Cleveland Heights
  • Outlook: Ignatius has won eight of their last nine games but face arguably their toughest stretch of the year to close out the regular season including four straight Top 25 matchups.
4. St. Vincent-St. Mary (4)
  • Record: 12-4
  • Last Week: Defeated Warrensville Heights, 74-52. Defeated Akron Buchtel, 81-51. Defeated Walnut Ridge, 61-52.
  • This Week: Idle
  • Outlook: A tough loss against Trotwood Madison appears to be officially behind the Irish and on Saturday they get rewarded with a week off. They return to action next Tuesday in a rivalry game against Hoban. 
5. St. Edward (5)
  • Record: 11-4
  • Last Week: Defeated #22 VASJ, 75-41. 
  • This Week: 2/3 vs. Lutheran East
  • Outlook: Monday's matchup against East English Village, Michigan's top ranked team, was cancelled and no makeup date has been announced. 
6. Lorain (6)
  • Record: 12-2
  • Last Week: Defeated #13 Medina, 64-56. Defeated #9 Cleveland Heights, 69-67. 
  • This Week: 1/31 vs. Shaw, 2/3 @ #12 Maple Heights, 2/4 @ Toledo Scott
  • Outlook: The Titans knocked off two top 15 teams last week including a comeback win against LEL foe Cleveland Heights. Jalil Little has emerged as a legitimate second scoring option for Coach Rositano.
7. Garfield Heights (8)
  • Record: 12-3
  • Last Week: Defeated #10 Cornerstone Christian, 66-60.
  • This Week: 2/1 vs. #24 Cleveland Central Catholic (at Quicken Loans Arena), 2/4 @ #13 Medina
  • Outlook: The Quicken Loans Arena will serve as  a neutral floor environment for what has become a rivalry with Garfield and CCC. Expect a very competitive game. 
8. Archbishop Hoban (11) 
  • Record: 13-1
  • Last Week: Defeated NDCL, 62-33. Defeated #11 Benedictine, 56-51.
  • This Week: 1/31 @ Padua, 2/3 @ Walsh Jesuit
  • Outlook: Arguably the area's hottest team, the Knights have won 13 straight games. Garrett Houser and Brian Cuppett were big in Friday's win over Benedictine. 
9. Cleveland Heights (7)
  • Record: 10-5
  • Last Week: Lost vs. #6 Lorain, 69-67. Defeated Huber Heights Wayne, 64-56. 
  • This Week: 1/31 @ Bedford, 2/3 vs. Shaw, 2/4 @ #3 St. Ignatius
  • Outlook: The grind of the regular season appears to be taking its toll on Heights as they weren't able to hold on at home against Lorain but a big win on the road against Wayne is a great way to build momentum moving forward.
10. Cornerstone Christian (10)
  • Record: 12-4
  • Last Week: Lost vs. #7 Garfield Heights, 66-60. 
  • This Week: 2/4 vsOrange
  • Outlook: The Patriots have a chance to win out in their last six contests. A date with Mentor on February 20th is very intriguing and could easily turn into a track meet. 
11. Benedictine (9)
  • Record: 12-3
  • Last Week: Defeated Walsh Jesuit, 66-37. Lost vs. #8 Hoban, 56-51.
  • This Week: 1/31 @ #3 St. Ignatius, 2/3 vs. Padua, 2/4 vs. Gilmour
  • Outlook: A frustrating loss on the road against Hoban ended the Bengals' five game streak but they can't dwell on it very long as they travel to Ignatius on Tuesday. 
12. Maple Heights (14)
  • Record: 12-2
  • Last Week: Defeated Willoughby South, 77-60. Defeated Bedford, 79-53. 
  • This Week: 1/31 @ Warrensville Heights, 2/3 vs. #6 Lorain
  • Outlook: Both of Maple's losses have come on the road this season. They'll have a chance to knot things up with Lorain at home on Friday, The Mustangs have won seven of ther last eight. 
13. Medina (13)
  • Record: 12-2
  • Last Week: Lost vs. #6 Lorain, 64-56. Defeated Strongsville, 77-65.
  • This Week: 1/31 @ Euclid, 2/3 vs. #19 Brunswick, 2/4 vs. #7 Garfield Heights
  • Outlook: The Bees face a challenging task this week from a strategical standpoint. Game tempo will play a major factor against three very different opponents.
14. Uniontown Lake (15)
  • Record: 12-4
  • Last Week: Defeated GlenOak, 57-55. Defeated Canfield, 55-36.
  • This Week: 1/31 @ Massillon Perry, 2/3 vs. McKinley
  • Outlook: Lake nearly escaped a road test against GlenOak and the Federal League grind continues for the Blue Streaks with Perry and McKinley on the menu. 
15. Mentor (16)
  • Record: 10-3
  • Last Week: Defeated Euclid, 88-79.
  • This Week: 1/31 vs. Strongsville, 2/3 @ #21 Solon, 2/4 @ #22 VASJ
  • Outlook: Senior Jack Korsok set a new school record with 10 made three pointers against Euclid. He went a ridiculous 9/9 from deep in the first half.
16. Copley (17)
  • Record: 14-0
  • Last Week: Defeated Twinsburg, 97-62. Defeated Barberton, 74-64. 
  • This Week: 1/31 @ Revere, 2/3 vs. Tallmadge
  • Outlook: The winning streak continues for the Indians who are riding on the 22-0 wave they started last season. 
17. Holy Name (12)
  • Record: 13-2
  • Last Week: Lost vs. Elyria Catholic, 68-55. 
  • This Week: 2/3 vs. Rocky River
  • Outlook: Holy Name suffered their first loss in the conference to an Elyria Catholic team that is starting to put it together.
18. Wooster (20)
  • Record: 15-0
  • Last Week: Defeated Madison Comprehensive, 65-55. Defeated Mansfield Senior, 80-49.
  • This Week: 2/3 vs. Lexington, 2/4 vs. Orrville
  • Outlook: Emotions and adrenaline will be at a high when the Generals rematch Lexington on Tuesday. The fans of the two teams were involved in a altercation last time they met.
19. Brunswick (22)
  • Record: 12-5
  • Last Week: Defeated #20 Elyria, 43-41.
  • This Week: 1/31 @ #21 Solon, 2/3 @ #13 Medina
  • Outlook: Kevin Simmons' game-winning layup was the nail in the coffin for the Blue Devils in their season sweep against Elyria. 
20. Elyria (18)
  • Record: 12-3
  • Last Week: Defeat Bay, 66-53. Defeated #19 Brunswick, 43-41.
  • This Week: 1/31 vs. Shaker Heights, 2/3 @ Shaker Heights, 2/4 @ Elyria Catholic
  • Outlook: Saturday's game against Elyria Catholic should be a fun, rivalry game as the two cross town rivals meet up for the only time this season.
21. Solon (23)
  • Record: 12-4
  • Last Week: Defeated Mayfield, 113-42. Defeated Shaker Heights, 66-63. 
  • This Week: 1/31 vs. #19 Brunswick, 2/3 vs. #15 Mentor
  • Outlook: The Comets are easily one of the most explosive offensive teams in the area but they'll be put to the test this week against a Brunswick team that wants to slow things down.
22. VASJ (19)
  • Record: 9-5
  • Last Week: Defeated St. Thomas Aquinas, 77-57. Defeated #24 Cleveland Central Catholic, 61-55. Lost vs. #5 St. Edward, 75-41. 
  • This Week: 1/31 @ Warren JFK, 2/3 @ Valley Christian, 2/4 vs. #15 Mentor
  • Outlook: The Vikings picked up two quality wins over Aquinas and CCC but suffered a minor setback in a blowout loss to St. Edward. 
23. Ellet (25)
  • Record: 12-3
  • Last Week: Defeated Akron Garfield, 81-60. Defeated Akron Kenmore, 63-61. 
  • This Week: 1/31 vs. Akron East, 2/3 @ Akron Firestone
  • Outlook: Despite playing without their leader in both points and rebounds in A.J. Gareri, Ellet has managed to pick up three straight wins. 
24. Cleveland Central Catholic (21)
  • Record: 8-6
  • Last Week: Defeated Valley Christian, 72-37. Lost vs. #22 VASJ, 61-55.
  • This Week: 2/1 vs. #7 Garfield Heights (@  Quicken Loans Arena), 2/3 @ Warren JFK 
  • Outlook: The Ironmen have a chance to pick up a statement win on a neutral floor against Garfield Heights. 
25. Wadsworth (NR)
  • Record: 10-4
  • Last Week: Defeated Stow, 51-43. 
  • This Week: 1/31 @ Cuyahoga Falls, 2/3 @ North Royalton
  • Outlook: The Grizzlies have won nine of their last 10 games. The backcourt of Tony Hewitt and Christian Szalay give the team a consistent scoring punch.
